Venice is on the edge of being submerged - studies predict that the city may be fully underwater by the year 2100 (BBC). 

I only understood this urgency this issue when I imagined myself in the shoes of Venetians and pictured my own city, my favourite restaurant, my elementary school submerged under the sea.
